There were reports that Metta World Peace was headed to Las Vegas to meet with the New York Knicks.

Well it is true, Metta World Peace is headed to Las Vegas. So is Greg Oden, who has plans to meet with the Mavericks, Kings and Pelicans in Sin City. But unlike his NBA free agent counterpart, World Peace is going for another reason.

The New York Post asked him if he was headed to Vegas to meet with the Knicks.

“No. To watch Floyd Mayweather train,” World Peace said.

Metta World Peace has made some odd statements about his future since being amnestied by the Los Angeles Lakers. He said he would consider playing in China. But he has said he doesn’t want to play in the NBA anymore and would consider China, Arena Football or coaching.

Maybe World Peace is adding boxing to the list of potential post-NBA activities.
