The Sacramento Kings have had a crazy bout with NBA Free Agency to date, but may not be done when it comes to trades either thanks to the backup known as Chuck Hayes.

It’s no secret the Kings have been looking to dump cap space, so Hayes is the perfect candidate. According to Chris Haynes of Comcast Sportsnet, Hayes is open to a trade if he goes to the right team:

"A source close to eight-year defensive specialist communicated to CSNNW.com that Hayes is not opposed to a change of scenery and would welcome such a deal if it’s the right team and situation. The same source, who spoke on the condition of anonymity due to the sensitive nature of the situation, added that Hayes would not have an issue returning to Sacramento for his third season with the organization if it worked out that way."

Hayes is due over $11 million the next two season. For a team in rebuild mode and needing cap space to bring back DeMarcus Cousins, dumping Hayes may be a great idea.

Unlikely to start wherever he lands, it’s a good thing Hayes is keeping his options open. He played just 16 minutes per game last season as a defensive specialist. Don’t expect much else, change of scenery or not.
