Speaking to the Detroit News, Pistons general manager Joe Dumars denied that he has offered up point guard Brandon Knight in exchange for Rajon Rondo of the Boston Celtics or Brandon Jennings of the Milwaukee Bucks.
As for the rumor mill that’s linked the Pistons with point guards Brandon Jennings (Milwaukee Bucks) and Rajon Rondo (Boston Celtics), he coyly debunked both reports — which had Brandon Knight as the common denominator as trade bait.
“Bogus, bogus. No conversations.” said Dumars about the Jennings theory before turning his attention to Boston. “I haven’t had any conversations with (Celtics GM) Danny Ainge about Brandon (Knight).”
It’s a pretty strong denial from Dumars, but, not exactly believable.
Dumars also skates around the discussions for Rondo or Jennings, simply stating that he hasn’t talked about Knight specifically.
While Rondo is far less likely to be moved than Jennings, you’d have to think given the somewhat stressed relationship between the Bucks and the former high school star, a potential swap could be possible if both sides had interest.
