ESPY Awards 2013: Jack Hoffman TD Run Wins Best Moment of the Year

In the most obvious award of the year, 7-year-old cancer patient Jack Hoffman was named the 2013 ESPY Award winner for Best Moment of the Year. For those that don’t remember, Hoffman trotted on to the field for the final play of the Nebraska spring game. He lined up in the backfield and took the hand off, before being led on a 69-yard touchdown run that was easily the most heart-warming moment of the year.

Hoffman was battling brain cancer when he started a friendship with the program, and their willingness to let him run out on to the field and earn that recognition was a reminder of why we all love sports.

Not only was the Hoffman touchdown run the best moment of the year, but it was one of the greatest sports moments of all-time.

If you didn’t get a chance to see Jack Hoffman’s touching touchdown run in the Nebraska spring game, here is video of his run that is sure to give you the chills.
