Game 6 of the 2013 NBA Finals between the Miami Heat and San Antonio Spurs was declared the best game of the year, beating out an NFL and NHL postseason game during the 2013 ESPY Awards.
The other nominees were the AFC Divisional Game between the Denver Broncos and Baltimore Ravens that went into double overtime, and Game 7 between the Boston Bruins and the Toronto Maple Leafs in the first round when the Bruins came back down two goals with less than two minutes to go in the game.
In a series of blowouts, it was Game 6 that captured sports fans in the NBA Finals. The Miami Heat were on the brink of losing the series down after three quarters of play at home. LeBron James started heating up and took over the game. With just minutes left, Tony Parker scored twice and had a steal to breathe life back into the Spurs, then Ray Allen landed a game-tying three-point shot to send the game into overtime.
Miami would win the game, and eventually win their second championship in as many years.
