ESPY Awards 2013: Jadeveon Clowney Wins Best Play

During the 2013 Outback Bowl, South Carolina Gamecocks star defensive end Jadeveon Clowney delivered one of the most epic hits you will ever see when he clobbered Michigan Wolverines running back Vincent Smith. The ball was jarred loose and Smith’s helmet went flying, as the legend of Clowney took a jump to an entirely new level.

Heading in to this season, that hit is still in the minds of NFL scouts and college football fans.

Clowney is considered by many to be a Heisman Trophy favorite and a potential No. 1 overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft if he chooses to give up his final year of eligibility. No matter what he decides, this is one of the moments that will help to define his college career as he leaves his mark at South Carolina.

Here is the epic play that will not be forgotten anytime soon by college football fans and Vincent Smith alike:

Nice hit, but also a big WHIFF by the pulling RG assigned to block him.

Everyone forgets the refs tried to steal the game from the Gamecocks on the previous play by calling the 4th down measurement short. Mr. Clowney disagreed and took matters into his own hands.
