Cleveland Browns drafted Alabama Crimson Tide running back with the third overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft. Unfortunately he had to deal with inuries to his left knee and ribs during the 2012 season. Earlier this offseason he was sidelined with a right shin injury.
Not quite the start to his NFL career he was hoping for. But he still had a successful season by all means. He played in 15 games, ran for 950 yards and 11 touchdowns while averaging 3.6 yards per carry.
But he told Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer in a story published Tuesday that he would be ready for the 2013 season and training camp.
“I’ll be full-go right from the get-go and y’all out there will see me flying around,” Richardson told the Plain Dealer. “I can’t wait to get out there and I can’t wait for the first game. I’ve been waiting forever for this season and I know it’s going to be a good one for us.”
If he was able to do all that as a rookie, while playing injured in 2012, we can expect him to improve drastically in the 2013 season and he could be a fun player to watch. It might make him somewhat of a sleeper fantasy pick.
