The Toronto Raptors decided to amnesty Linas Kleiza and the Lithuanian forward expects to return to Europe next season. While there is still a chance he could return to the NBA, he doesn’t particularly like his chances, and said the following of whether he could play in the league next season:
“I don’t think so. I believe that there are very slim chances for this to happen. I think that I will be a free agent, free to negotiate with any team I want to and I will examine my options”.
Kleiza is not in any kind of advanced talks with any team, whether it’s in Europe or in the NBA, and is currently focused on the Lithuanian national team. However, he claims that he is feeling great and is 100% healthy.
Returning to Europe would probably be the best for Kleiza’s career. After suffering a knee injury, he has not quite managed to get back on the court on a consistent basis. Playing 82 games in a regular season is probably too much of a stress on his body at this point of his career. He has had great success in Europe and seems keen on signing overseas.
