The New Orleans Pelicans are looking to be more competitive next season, and will need a lot of help from last season’s leading scorer Eric Gordon. Gordon underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left ankle in May, but should be back on a basketball court in a couple of weeks.
Eric Gordon just told Monty Williams that he's going to be back in a few weeks.

Gordon has been hanging out at the Las Vegas Summer League, watching some of his teammates play. In a couple of interviews that he did, he seemed a lot more excited about the Pelicans than he has been previously. He unwillingly stayed with the team, despite signing an offer sheet with the Phoenix Suns, but seems to be enjoying life in New Orleans a bit more now.
The Pelicans added the first overall pick Anthony Davis and also traded for Jrue Holiday and signed Tyreke Evans this summer. While the roster might not be good enough to reach the playoffs next season, it’s still a whole lot better than it was before. For the Pelicans to even have a chance to taste some postseason action, Gordon will have to stay healthy, as he played in just 42 games last year.
