Wondering when the best time is to catch the Open Championship on Friday? Better break out the coffee and the energy drinks; there’s something to watch during the entirety of ESPN’s coverage of the second round.
4:44 a.m. – Tiger Woods (-2), Graeme McDowell (+4)
Louis Oosthuizen withdrew after teeing off on the ninth hole, citing hip problems just as he did in the US Open this season. That will leave Woods who finished tied for ninth place last year to try and take advantage of another great day at Muirfield while McDowell will try to stick around for the weekend.
8:45 a.m. – Dustin Johnson (-3), Bubba Watson (-1), Nicolas Colsaerts (+4)
Watson finished 50th at the Masters and 32nd in the US Open this year. He’s in great position to improve his best finish in a major this year, but he’ll have competition with Dustin who’s finished in the top 10 for the previous two years.
9:12 a.m. – Brandt Snedeker (-3), Ernie Els (+3), Justin Rose (+4)
This is one of the most interesting groups. With featured names like Else and Rose, Snedeker is an uncommon name in America but he’s continuing to dominate from his fantastic finish last season tied for third. Snedeker currently sits at fourth place.
10:07 a.m. — Zach Johnson (-5), Shingo Katayama (+2), Thomas Bjorn (+2)
Since the Iowa-born golfer won the Masters in 2007, he’s had three top-10 finishes. His last one was at the Open Championship last year, tied for ninth.
