Marvin Lewis: One Job, To Win Super Bowl
By Mike Dyce
Mavin Lewis was presented with the 2009 Sports Emmy for “Outstanding Edited Series” during a press conference by NFL Senior Coordinating Producer Ross Ketover at a press conference at Paul Brown Stadium. The Cincinnati Bengals are set to be on the NFL training camp documentary from HBO, “Hard Knocks,” for the second time.
After being on the show in ’09 Lewis said he couldn’t imagine doing the show again, but time heals all.
“When Ross contacted me, it is a lot different football team. There’s a lot of interesting positions, some battles that we’re going to have,” Lewis said, via Cincinnati.com. “There’s been quite a bit of change. At the end of the day, the organization felt a trust with NFL Films and how things would be and to go ahead and go forth with it and join together with them as well.”
But while Hard Knocks might be a distraction, Lewis said the Bengals are focused on one thing, the Super Bowl.
“My job doesn’t change. I’ve got one job to do which is to get this team to win a Super Bowl,” he said. “We’ve got to go do what we can do. Let’s just go and do our jobs.”
Ketover joked that the Emmy would keep the Vince Lombardi Trophy’s spot in the case warm.
“It’ll keep the trophy case warm until the Lombardi Trophy gets here. Hopefully there will be more trophies to come,” Ketover said.
