After getting delayed for a day and finally agreeing to send the players overseas, the National Hockey League finally released the entire schedule of the 2013-14 season.

Opening night will be on October 1st with three games (all times Eastern), two pairing up for Canadian teams with two of the more popular franchises in the United States.

  • Toronto Maple Leafs vs. Montreal Canadiens at 7:00 p.m.,
  • Washington Capitals vs. Chicago Blackhawks at 8:00 p.m.
  • Winnipeg Jets vs. Edmonton Oilers at 10:00 p.m.

NBC Sports Network will carry the American matchup and will show two more games in consecutive days. The Detroit Red Wings will host the Buffalo Sabres on October 2nd and the Minnesota Wild will host the Los Angeles Kings on October 3rd. Both games will start at 8:00 p.m. ET.

NHL Network will debut their live broadcasts with the Red Wings on the road against the Boston Bruins on October 5th at 7:00 p.m. ET.

The NHL will temporarily suspend play for over two weeks in February with the 2014 Winter Olympics that are held in Sochi, Russia. That will take place between February 9th through 25th.
