The Cleveland Browns have signed their 3rd round draft pick, corner-back Leon McFadden to a 4 year contract.
MacFadden was the #68 overall pick in the draft and ran with the 2nd string defense during spring practices but could be in the mix to start opposite of veteran corner Joe Haden.
The rookie corner-back is a fantastic player and will have to compete for that #2 spot as training camp approaches. Standing at 5’8 and weighing in at 193 pounds, McFadden may be small, but he can hang with the biggest and best of them.
Right now he is to compete with Buster Skrine and Chris Owens, Skrine is Cleveland’s 5th round draft pick back in 2011, who has 103 tackles in his career.
While Chris Owens, is entering his 1st season with the Cleveland Browns after being picked up as a free agent after spending his first 4 seasons with the Atlanta Falcons. Owens could be the heavy favorite to become the #2 position as he has more experience with 126 tackles, 1 sack and 3 interceptions under his belt.
Leon started 45 of 51 games at San Diego State, picking up 188 total tackles, 13 for loss, 3 sacks and 8 interceptions in which 2 were returned for a touchdown.
