Unspecified sources (sources!) have indicated to ESPN.com that the Denver Nuggets may join in the courting of sharpshooter Mike Miller. The Nuggets are in need of a wing player after losing Corey Brewer and Andre Iguodala.
The 33-year-old Miller helped the Miami Heat win back-to-back championships, his biggest contribution being a seven three-pointer performance in Game 5 of the 2012 NBA Finals versus the Oklahoma City Thunder. Miller was amnestied on Tuesday of last week in an effort to reduce the Heat’s luxury-tax payments next season.
Miller started the last four games of the 2013 NBA Finals, shooting a scorching 61 percent from three.
While a nagging back injury has proved troublesome, Miller insists he’s healthy and ready to play: “I’m excited about the next spot. I’m re-energized. I really am. I’m just feeling healthy. I’m ready to play. I started to get back in [the gym] again last week and I can’t wait to play again next year.”
