The Arizona Diamondbacks are a team starting to step to the front of the MLB trade rumors market for a variety of different reasons as the team may or may not elect to become sellers.
If the team chooses to sell, expect slumping hitter Jason Kubel to be a name moved.
According to Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe, Arizona may be on the market for pitching and could be willing to part with Kubel:
The D-Backs are open to dealing Kubel if they can get a pitcher in return. Kubel, who hit 30 homers last season, had only five entering Saturday.
Kubel is not a bad name to give up at this point because the team can tout he blasted 30 home runs a year ago. Of course, he’s only hit five this year, which would explain why the team would be open to letting him walk in the first place.
The Diamondbacks appear to be on the market for a pitcher, but it’s hard to see them gaining one of elite caliber unless Kubel is but a very, very small piece of the deal.
