The 2014 Cotton Bowl has already sold out, and we don’t even know who is playing in it. Last year it pitted two former Big 12 Teams against one another: Texas A&M vs Oklahoma. It also showcased the most entertaining player in college football and Heisman Trophy winner, Johnny Manziel.
What we do know is that it will be a capacity crowd and it will have one SEC team and one Big 12 team.
It’ll be the 8th consecutive sell out for the bowl game which turns 78 this season. It was one of the quickest sell outs in the history of the bowl game.
The Cotton Bowl recently left the stadium it is named after and moved to Arlington, Texas and Cowboys Stadium. AT&T sponsors the Cotton Bowl and is reportedly agreeing to a deal to sponsor the name of Cowboys Stadium.
“You can feel the excitement building from our passionate fan base as our game just seems to continue to grow,” said Amy Scott, vice president of ticket sales, via ESPN. “You combine a world-class facility like Cowboys Stadium with great college football teams and tremendous local support, and it’s a recipe for success.”
