The Houston Texans have signed their first round draft pick, wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins. The deal is for 4 years and $7.62 million, including a $3.92 million signing bonus. The first three years of the deal are guaranteed.

From NFL.com:

"John McClain of the Houston Chronicle reported that Hopkins agreed to a four-year, $7.62 million contract. Hopkins will get a signing bonus of $3.92 million, with the first three years of his deal guaranteed. The No. 27 player selected in the 2013 NFL Draft, Hopkins was an offseason standout on a team that badly needs wide receiver help."

Hopkins is another weapon for quarterback Matt Schaub. Schaub has been criticized for not being clutch enough in the big moments or “when it counts.” He’s really had only one quality wide receiver to rely on in Andre Johnson and solid play from tight end Owen Daniels.

Other wide receivers on the Texans roster include: Kevin Martin, DeVier Posey, Lestar Jean and Jeff Maehl. Recognize any of those names? Their probably not on your fantasy team. The Texans hope Hopkins can be a solid complement to Johnson and help take some of the attention off of him.
