The Boston Red Sox are on the market for starting pitching thanks to several injuries that have plagued the team, but not many pegged the Red Sox as a team in the market for a reliever as well.

According to some, the Red Sox have interest in picking up a reliever and have a known interest in Francisco Rodriguez of the Milwaukee Brewers.

The report comes from Evan Drellich of MassLive.com:

Francisco Rodriguez is throwing well and the Red Sox have seen him, but Milwaukee got a great haul back for Zack Greinke. The situations, of course, aren’t the same, but the asking price for K-Rod could be high.

This is currently something that is being swept under the rug with the Red Sox having interest in high-profile names like Jake Peavy. Still, the addition of a reliever such as Rodriguez would provide a huge boost overall given they get healthier or the front office swings a trade for a legit starter.

Stay tuned. The next week in Boston should be wild.
