Ryan Braun suspended for the rest of the season without pay

Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Ryan Braun has been suspended for the rest of the season with out pay.

Braun also released a statement via MLB’s twitter account.

“I wish to apologize to … all of the baseball fans especially those in Milwaukee, the great Brewers organization, and my teammates. I realize now that I have made some mistakes. I am willing to accept the consequences of those actions.”

There were rumblings that Major League Baseball would start suspending players after the All-Star break, it was just a waiting game until the first domino fell. Alex Rodriguez, who is currently battling injury, could be the next player up or Nelson Cruz of the Texas Rangers.

Rodriguez, Braun and Cruz were all linked to the Miami based Biogenesis clinic, a PED source for more than 20 players.
