Newly acquired right handed pitcher Matt Garza will make his Texas Rangers debut against the New York Yankees on Wednesday.

So, as we can see the Chicago Cubs were dead serious about trading Matt Garza and of course another Cubs ace becomes a Texas Ranger. I believe the last trade these two teams made, the Rangers acquired right handed starter Ryan Dempster and catcher Giovanni Soto for a set of prospects in return, just like this trade.

Garza will make his debut against left handed pitcher Andy Pettite who is 7-7 on the year with an ERA of 4.47. The last 7 starts for Pettite have been frustrating for him, going 2-4 with an 5.40 ERA as the opposing team has hit .311 against him since his last decent start against the Mariners back on June 8th.

As for Garza, he is coming off 6 consecutive quality starts for the Chicago Cubs, hoping to continue his level of play for the Rangers. His start will come in the 3rd game of the 4 game series.
