As the trade deadline approaches and their rivals dealing their ace to the Texas Rangers, the Chicago White Sox may be listening to offers for a starting pitcher of their own.

According to Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com, the St. Louis Cardinals and Boston Red Sox are possible trade destinations for Jake Peavy if the White Sox were to deal him.

It would make sense that the Boston Red Sox were in the mix, after Clay Bucholz was sidelined to an injury, but was given the OK to pitch, just doesn’t have a time table for his return yet. Heyman also speculates that the Arizona Diamondbacks could be interested in Jake Peavy, given his relationship with general manager Kevin Towers, dating back to their days with the San Diego Padres organization.

Peavy has a record of 7-4 on the season with an ERA of 4.19 on the year, which could be good enough to draw attention from the St. Louis Cardinals and other possible playoff contenders.

Other teams interested in Jake Peavy according to Heyman are the Los Angeles Dodgers, Colorado Rockies, Washington Nationals, Baltimore Orioles, Pittsburgh Pirates and San Francisco Giants.

We will keep you posted as more action could come out of this possible move between the White Sox, Jake Peavy and teams listed.
