Robert Griffin III suffered a knee injury in the first round of the playoffs. He has been rehabbing in an effort to get ready for the season opener, and his positive attitude and work ethic has even inspired others with their own rehabs like San Francisco 49ers running back Marcus Lattimore.

ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter says that it is unlikely RG3 will play in any preseason games.

From ESPN.com:

"Shanahan, who put Griffin through an extensive workout Monday after team doctors cleared his return to practice, would not specifically address questions of whether Griffin would play this summer. But sources who know the coach expressed pessimism Griffin would return in the preseason. One Redskins front-office member said Washington will not want to subject Griffin to any hits this summer. Shanahan also was known in Denver to be cautious with players coming off major injuries."

The Washington Redskins first preseason game is August 8th, over a month ahead of their first regular season game on September 9th. That season opener is a Monday Night Football matchup against divisional foes, the Philadelphia Eagles.
