Daniel Cormier wants light-heavyweight title shot with win over Roy Nelson

UFC heavyweight Daniel Cormier is one of the top fighters in the sport and he is looking for a title shot. Cormier’s next fight comes against Roy Nelson at UFC 166 and the former world class wrestler would love a crack at UFC gold with a win. However, he wants the title shot at a different weight class.

Cormier said that he would like an immediate title shot against Jon Jones at light-heavyweight with a win over Nelson, during an appearance on FUEL TV’s “UFC Tonight” with Ariel Helwani.

Fans have been intrigued for the idea of this fight for some time, so it would be great to see it finally come together.

Cormier would be an exciting challenger at heavyweight, but his teammate Cain Velasquez is the current title holder and there is no interest in fighting his good friend.

If Jones gets by Alexander Gustafsson at UFC 165 and Cormier gets the victory at UFC 166, we could be in for a very exciting match up.
