Domonic Brown showing concussion-like symptoms

According to Matt Gelb on Twitter, Philadelphia Phillies All-Star left fielder Domonic Brown is displaying concussion-like symptoms.

Domonic hit his head pretty hard on Tuesday night’s game against the St. Louis Cardinals while attempting to make a diving catch on what would end up becoming a Carlos Beltran triple.

It’s an awful blow for the Phillies to take, with an even worse timing. The 25 year old left fielder will be monitored closely over the next few nights and won’t be cleared to return to live action until at least Friday, if not, expect him to end up on some sort of disabled list.

With Brown out, it looks like Laynce Nix will get the start for the Phillies as they enter the 2nd game of the 3 game series.

Brown is having a career best season as he is batting .271 with 24 home runs and 69 RBI’s going into the second half of the season. While Laynce Nix is batting .192 with 2 home runs and 6 RBI’s in 104 at bats.

It’s safe to say that the Philadelphia Phillies are hoping that their All-Star left fielder is able to shake those symptoms soon and get back to the starting line up.
