Atlanta Braves starting pitcher Tim Hudson was having himself one heck of a ballgame against the New York Mets on Wednesday night when his night came to an end because of a brutal injury. Hudson ran over to cover first base when Mets second baseman Eric Young Jr. ran to first base and ended up trampling the pitcher’s leg.

It was a devastating injury that clearly showed Hudson suffered some serious damage to his ankle.

Just to get an idea of how awful Hudson’s injury was, here is a tweet from Buster Olney of ESPN:

Before suffering the injury, Hudson was on a roll with 7.2 innings of scoreless baseball.

Unfortunately, his night came to a horrifying end.

If you want to see a video of the incident, you can catch a glimpse here. WARNING: The video is extremely graphic and not for the faint of heart.
