Los Angeles Lakers have braced themselves for a very tough year filled with a whole lot more losses than wins. Still, recent rumors have suggested that the team will be pursuing LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony next summer in order to get back to relevance.

What does Melo have to say about that? He ran into a reporter who asked him if he could see himself in a purple and gold uniform next season, to which Anthony responded that he doubts it.

In the video footage, a persistent TMZ representative approached Anthony and asked him a couple of questions, but Melo didn’t seem very keen to elaborate on the topic.

Obviously Lakers fans are eager to add more superstar to the roster, but everyone is getting way ahead of themselves. The only true reports that are out there are that the team will pursue the top free agents, and, guess what — so will the rest of the league. A lot of things can happen between now and next summer and Melo would probably have to turn down a massive extension with the Knicks to sign for the Lakers.

We can’t get ahead of ourselves LakerNation!! We shouldn’t be “tipping our hand” so to speak on what free agent to go after, IMO.
