The Chicago Bulls star and former NBA MVP Derrick Rose was interviewed recently by CNN’s Pedro Pinto. He had one question for Rose, “who is the best player in the NBA right now?”
Rose had a simple answer: “Derrick Rose.”
But before you take this as a slight towards LeBron James instead of confidence in his own abilities, Rose said LeBron was the hardest player to guard in the NBA when asked by Pinto.
“I would have to say LeBron,” Rose said. “A 6-foot-8 guy that’s 250 [pounds]. What do you think?”
Rose is still working on his come back, which according to Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau is going well.
“There will be an adjustment period, but I’m not anticipating there being any problems,” Thibodeau, in an interview with ESPNChicago.com last week. “His overall strength is terrific. He’s put a lot of work into his body. I know he’s anxious to get out there and play. He’s played some pickup but not a lot, but he feels great, and that’s the most important thing.”
“I think there’s going to be some rust initially, but I fully expect him to get back to [being] the player we all know that he is.”
He is expected to get the usual work load and will play normal starters minutes during the preseason.
