Domonic Brown on disabled list, Phillies purchase Triple-A contract

I reported yesterday that Domonic Brown has been showing concussion like symptoms and could see time on the disabled list, well, that is exactly what is happening.

He displayed symptoms after hitting his head pretty hard in a game against the St. Louis Cardinals, trying to make a diving grab which would turn into a triple by Carlos Beltran. He will now get some extended rest just to be sure those symptoms disappear.

He’ll have to be cleared by Major League Baseball doctors before returning to action.

With that being said and done, the Philadelphia Phillies have purchased the contract of outfielder Steve Susdorf of Triple-A Lehigh Valley. He’ll take place of Domonic Brown on the active roster.

The 27 year old outfielder was batting .335/.419/.428 with 1 homerun, 25 RBI’s in 70 games this season at Triple-A level ball. There goes the idea of having Nix fill in for Brown, but could see some time as a pinch hitter, even 1 game before Brown returns to the active roster.
