Frank Gore: 49ers must do better to win NFC West

The Seattle Seahawks developed into a legitimate contender last season. The San Francisco 49ers were the team that won the NFC Championship and a trip to the Super Bowl however. But we were very close to seeing the two facing off in the NFC Championship game.
The Seahawks have followed that up with a solid free agency and have gotten better adding key defensive players as well as trading for Percy Harvin. The Arizona Cardinals added quarterback Carson Palmer, and the St. Louis Rams used several draft picks to improve their team.
The NFC West has gotten better.
“It’s probably one of the best divisions in football right now,” Gore said, via the 49ers team website. “We like it like that. We like it tough.”
But the 49ers could be disappointed after the 2012 season and it’s end in the Super Bowl, but Gore says that serves as motivation not as a
“Just knowing what it takes to get to where we got last year,” Gore began, “we know if we want to get back there, we’ve got to do better this year to win it.”
The 49ers will be limping into the season with a depleted wide receiver group, despite adding Anquan Boldin. But Frank Gore said you can always count on their defense.
“Our defense is going to do what they always do, so I think we got better,” Gore said.
