chris dickerson close to being traded to phillies.
The Philadelphia Phillies have said they hope to be ‘buyers’ at the upcoming MLB trade deadline and well, I guess if shopping at the .99 cent store is your thing then you’ll be pleased with Chris Dickerson.
A 31-year-old outfielder, Dickerson was recently designated for assignment by the Orioles who are thankful to be getting anything in return for the backup outfielder. What exactly they’ll be getting is unknown. There’s been no word if the O’s will receive cash or a low level prospect in return for the five year veteran, but anything is better than nothing.
The Phillies, who lost outfielder Ben Revere a few weeks back are hoping to secure some depth which they’re hopeful Dickerson will provide.
After a strong start to the season, Dickerson has found himself in a tough slump, currently hitting .245 with 4 home runs and 13 RBI in 102 at-bat’s.
Update: Heyman has now retracted his report after Phillies general manager Ruben Amaro says he has not pulled the trigger yet.
