Notre Dame senior wide receiver TJ Jones decided to go swimming with some sharks earlier this month at the The Florida Aquarium in Tampa. Evidently, Jones has never seen Jaws. Or Deep Blue Sea. Or Sharknado. Or that “Planet Earth” clip where the shark absolutely annihilates an unsuspecting seal.

Jones, who has been interested in aquatic life since he was a child, spoke about the unique experience of being only feet away from some of the most vicious killers Darwin ever intelligently designed:

Being inside the tank, you get to see the aquarium from very different perspectives. You get to see up close and in real life the way that sharks, fish, eels, and turtles all interact with one another. You get to see that sharks aren’t really as ferocious and violent as everyone thinks. You leave them alone and they’ll leave you alone (

The video below isn’t exactly full of danger, but it does look pretty scary from where I’m sitting (on land, in pajamas, thousands of miles away form the nearest shark).
