Former San Francisco Giants closer Brian Wilson is currently a free agent, but he is looking to make a comeback and threw for a number of Major League Baseball scouts on Thursday. If you believe the word that is floating around following the workouts, the scouts came away impressed with what Wilson showed off.

From Dane Bugler of CBS Sports:

“He looked good,” the scout said. “His fastball was 90-93 mph. [He's] not far away.”

With the playoff race heating up and teams looking to make some final upgrades to their line ups and bolster their bull pens before making a late season push, it would be a no-brainer for a number of teams to consider adding Wilson.

So it comes as no surprise that the Pittsburgh Pirates, St. Louis Cardinals, Texas Rangers and Giants are all among teams that have been reportedly checking him out. Bugler adds that the Arizona Diamondbacks, Oakland Athletics, Philadelphia Phillies and Colorado Rockies also had scouts in attendance.

If the workout went as good as it sounds, you can expect someone to be calling Wilson’s agent sooner rather than later.
