With the Major League Baseball trade deadline still a week away, teams are able to ramp up their pursuit and efforts of bolstering their line ups before the deadline passes. If the Atlanta Braves have their way, they will likely come away with Houston Astros starting pitcher Bud Norris.

According to reports, the Braves are “actively pursuing” Norris as they look to add depth to their pitching rotation.

From Jon Morosi of FOX Sports:

Atlanta’s rotation will be getting a boost in the near future when Brandon Beachy returns at 100 percent, but that apparently won’t be enough to satisfy the team.

Many expect that Norris will be moved by the trade deadline and his 3.93 ERA and 1.41 WHIP this season would be a great fit with the Braves. If Norris joins Atlanta before the end of the month, the speculation is that Kris Medlen could be making the move to the bull pen.
