MLB trade rumors 2013: Many teams interested in San Diego Padres Luke Gregerson

There are three constants come every Major League Baseball trade deadline – starting pitching, bullpen help and power. Those are holding true this year as teams are in a panicked search for all three and it appears bullpen help is nearing the top of the list for many franchises.

One of the best available names on the market is Luke Gregerson of the San Diego Padres, who seem like a bullpen arm factory. On a near yearly basis, the Padres send out at least an arm or two and Gregerson may be the next candidate to pack his bags, especially if a team wants to overpay.

CBS Sports’ Jon Heyman is suggesting that multiple teams have interest in Gregerson and value him more than current Padres closer Huston Street, who is also reportedly available for the right price:

#padres getting a lot of hits on Luke Gregerson, more than on Huston Street. 1 of best set-up men in game.

The 29-year-old Gregerson has been nothing short of fantastic since debuting for the Friars in 2009.

Currently posting a 2.98 ERA, the St. Xavier University product owns a career 2.93 ERA through four plus Major League seasons and has good enough stuff to close in the right situation.
