MLB trade rumors 2013: Seattle Mariners showing interest in Jake Peavy

The MLB trade deadline is rapidly approaching and it is more evident than ever with the increased flood of rumors and reports around the league. The latest report to surface involves Chicago White Sox starting pitcher Jake Peavy, who is reportedly being checked out by the Seattle Mariners.

It is a bit curious that the Mariners are even considering being buyers at the trade deadline with their team being 10 games back from first place and 7.5 games out of the Wild Card race, but perhaps they have a larger plan in place.
