Sacramento Kings working on DeMarcus Cousins contract extension

New Sacramento Kings owner Vivek Ranadive was recently spotted in Las Vegas where DeMarcus Cousins has been practicing with Team USA. The two were spotted chatting and laughing on the sidelines together and now according to the Sacramento Bee, Cousins’ agent Dan Fegan and the Kings front office are planning to sit down to discuss a long term contract extension.

Per Jason Jones:

BTW, I hear the Kings will be meeting the DeMarcus Cousins’ agent, Dan Fegan, to discuss contract extension in the near future.

Fegan, who is known for his hardball tactics recently suggested that Cousins would demand a trade if the Kings did not meet his contractual demands of a maximum value deal. Cousins has tried to distance himself from that statement, suggesting he is loyal to Sacramento.

Current Washington Wizards guard John Wall, who is also a close friend of Cousins and is represented by Fegan is nearing a five year, $80 million dollar extension which would be a number Cousins could expect if he and Sacramento come to an agreement.
