Arian Foster taking it "day by day"

Houston Texans running back Arian Foster is currently on the physically unable to perform list. He is trying to get ready for the season but won’t rush his recovery and risk further injuring himself.

“You can’t play through it,” Foster said, via the Houston Chronicle. “It’s not like you’re playing through a broken collar bone. I’ve played through a lot of things, this is just something you can’t. There’s no reason to right now. I’m just  going to take my time. When I feel 100 percent confident, I’ll be back. It’s just got some light soreness in there. I can do pretty much everything. We’re just going to take it day by day.”

“I just want to help out my team and be the best me I can be for my squad,” Foster said. “So that’s what I’ve been working toward. I put in so much work I didn’t even take a vacation this year. I took one. For four days.”

Being limited on the field has forced Foster to work harder on training.

“I think as an athlete you always have to try to reinvent yourself,” Foster said. “You always have to push yourself to the limits. This year I just tried to take my training to another level. … You can always get better as an athlete. You shouldn’t ever be satisfied with your play.”
