Maybe it’s the money talking as John Wall is close to signing a five year extension worth $80 million dollars, but the Washington Wizards guard says he is as confident as ever and ready to start the upcoming season yesterday.
Per the Washington Post:
“I’m confident now and I’m ready to show the world what I’m capable of,” Wizards point guard John Wall said. “This is the most confidence I ever felt. Everybody was writing me off,” Wall said. “Nobody believed in me no more, until what I did at the end of the season and then they started believing again. Just more motivation. Fuel to my flames to try to get better.”
Wall, despite early season struggles in January and February after returning from his injury took off in March and April, posting 23 points, 8 assists and 5 rebounds in the seasons final two months.
The former University of Kentucky star has said anything short of the playoffs would be a personal failure for him this season, hinting that he “has” to make the postseason and will do everything possible to lead his team there.
