MLB trade rumors 2013: Atlanta Braves showing interest in Joe Thatcher

The Atlanta Braves are reportedly looking to bolster their bullpen and they have their eyes on a specific relief pitcher. According to the most recent reports, the team has shown some interest in San Diego Padres left-hander Joe Thatcher.

From Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports:

On the season, Thatcher has put up impressive numbers that include a 2.15 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 29/4 K/BB ratio. As you can see from Rosenthal’s tweet, his numbers against left-handers are even more dominant.

For a team that is looking to add depth to their bullpen and gear up for the final stretch of the season, Thatcher could be just what the doctor ordered for the Braves as they eye a run at the World Series.
