MLB trade rumors 2013: Chicago White Sox pitcher Jake Peavy apparently has been traded

It appears Chicago White Sox starter Jake Peavy will have a new home in the near future, though, nobody knows where he’ll be going.

According to Bruce Levin of ESPN Chicago, the Sox starter in in the process of being traded but the destination is unknown.

Per Levin, via ESPN’s Jim Bowden:

Peavy about to be traded according to Bruce Levine ESPN Chicago…could be A’s or Braves (Red Sox, Cardinals, O’s say it’s not them)

Bowden goes on to say that multiple teams that were interested in the former Cy Young award winner informed him that they are not the club who has acquired Peavy:

If Jake Peavy has been traded it is NOT to the Braves,Cards,O’s or Red Sox according to team sources

That leaves just a handful of teams who had apparent strong interest in the one time All-Star.

Both Bowden and fellow ESPN’er Buster Olney suggested the Oakland Athletics were the favorite for Peavy’s services and they have yet to come out and deny any such move to Bowden.

Update: It’s being reported by multiple sources that Peavy has cleaned out his locker.
