Not all that long ago, Houston Astros starter Erik Bedard was one of the premier pitchers in the Major Leagues.
Injuries have hampered the aging left hander but a recent string of strong outings has scouts interested in the nine year veteran, this according to Leila Rahimi of CSNHouston.com:
Sources tell me Astros LHP Erik Bedard’s recent strong outings, plus season performance has lead to interest from teams as deadline nears.
Because of that, teams are hoping they can snag an affordable starter without giving much up.
Bedard signed a one year deal with the Astros earlier this season so it’s likely that the ‘Stros will send the one time fifteen game winner out to whomever offers up the best deal.
