The New York Knicks and the Memphis Grizzlies are looking to fill out the roster and add some more depth for next season, and both teams have expressed interest in free agent Delonte West. No offers have been made as of yet, but it seems that the parties have been in contact.
The New York Knicks and the Memphis Grizzlies are on the lookout for a backup point guard and according to a source close to the situation, both teams have inquired about the services of Delonte West.
The source, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, says talks with those respective teams have ramped up recently, however they are termed as being “preliminary at this point” with no offers presented as of yet.
West’s most recent NBA team was the Dallas Mavericks, but he was suspended by the team twice and eventually waived. Last season he also played for the Texas Legends in D-League.
If he doesn’t run into trouble off the court, West would be a decent addition to both teams. He is a good defensive player who can guard multiple positions and can also knock down the 3-point shot.
