Tracy McGrady made a somewhat surprising return to the NBA last season. The San Antonio Spurs waived Stephen Jackson and decided to bring in McGrady as a temporary replacement for the postseason. Many T-Mac fans hoped that McGrady could become an NBA champion with the team, even if it was only riding the bench, but the Spurs came up short. Unsurprisingly, T-Mac’s NBA career could very well be over, as he is considering going back to China.

In a pre-game press conference in Nanning, McGrady said he might come back to China Basketball Association (CBA) league despite its under par competitive environment.

“For those who have played years in NBA and still want to prolong their career like me, CBA is a great alternative,”

“China is a huge market. Last season when I played for Tsingtao Doublestar, the fans were incredible. I had a great time there,” said McGrady.

McGrady obviously has a huge fan base in China, so it wouldn’t be surprising if he decided to continue his career there. The alternative would be to join another NBA title contender and riding the bench for a year in hopes of winning a title.
