Former San Francisco Giants closer Brian Wilson hasn’t played in 2013 and has spent the year as a free agent waiting for a call. Well those calls are starting to come in and according to Bob Nightengale of USA TODAY, 5 teams are calling.

The two favorites? Well that’d be the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Wilson auditoned for teams last Thursday. Aside from the Pirates and Diamondbacks the A’s, Giants, Phillies, Rangers, Rockies and Cardinals were among the teams represented at Thursday’s workout.

“He looked good,” a scout said, via CBS Sports. “His fastball was 90-93 mph. [He's] not far away.”

Tim Brown of Yahoo said that Brian Wilson expects to be back in the majors by mid-August for one of the 5 teams pursuing him.

Brian Wilson is recovering from Tommy John surgery he had in April of 2012.
