Minor league team will host 'scandal night' promotion

The Richmond Flying Squirrels will have a promotion on Thursday night to make fun of sports athletes in scandals. Mayor candidate Anthony Weiner will be along with them, and the team will promote cheap hot dogs and will hold a contest on how people enjoy their hot dogs by tweeting pictures.

From the Associated Press report:

[Double-A Richmond] of the Eastern League intend to sell hot dogs for $1 on Thursday. The team says fans also can enter a contest by tweeting photos during the game showing how they are enjoying their hot dogs.

Other contests will be a “Brett Favre football throw” and “Tiger Woods closest to the pin challenge.”

While the promotion is meant in good fun, actually having fans taking pictures of how they eat hot dogs because an election candidate took pictures of himself and sent them to multiple women may feel a little odd.

Perhaps just sticking to the sports scandals would have been better.

All being said, I’m surprised they didn’t spend more time and make Favre’s contest a little more… detailed like the others. Let’s hope they don’t go after anything involving Aaron Hernandez.
