After suffering an ankle injury in yesterday’s game against the Los Angeles Dodgers, Shin-Soo Choo will not be in the starting lineup for the Cincinnati Reds tonight.
John Fay of the Cincinnati Inquirer reports that Choo won’t be starting for the Reds as they begin a three-game series against the San Diego Padres.

Choo was actually out of the starting lineup against the Dodgers on Sunday because manager Dusty Baker believed he needed a rest after getting three hits in 22 at-bats.
The center fielder is hitting a solid .285 batting average with 14 home runs and 33 RBIs on the season. Unfortunately, Choo’s bat went cold during the series against the Dodgers, unable to get a hit since last Thursday’s game and hasn’t hit a home run since July 22nd against the San Francisco Giants.
Choo got off to a blazing start with the bat, posting a .377 batting average in April. While his average dipped over the next two months, Choo has been able to maintain a high on base percentage. Despite recent struggles, Choo is hitting .341 in July.
