Closer Brian Wilson agrees to deal with Los Angeles Dodgers

I’m not sure who is throwing up more right now – San Francisco Giant fans or Los Angeles Dodger fans.

Actually, there’s just generally a lot of vomiting going on across California as long time San Francisco Giants closer Brian Wilson has agreed to a minor league contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Per ESPN’s Jim Bowden:

Brian Wilson has agreed to minor league deal with the Dodgers #Source

Wilson, a New England native spends quite a bit of time in Southern California and has long been linked to the Dodgers as he’s reportedly preferred to stay on the West Coast if he couldn’t pitch for the Red Sox.

The eccentric closer missed almost all of last year after suffering an arm injury just days into the season. He underwent his second Tommy John operation and was offered an incentive laden contract by the Giants, but declined as he was looking for guaranteed money – something no team was willing to offer.

Wilson took it as a slight and opted to stay a free agent and return when he was ‘healthy’.

The Dodgers will keep Wilson in the minors to get some work before promoting him in the near future.
