DeJuan Blair tweets he has signed with Dallas Mavericks

Earlier this morning, ESPN’s Marc Stein hinted that the Dallas Mavericks were in discussions to bring DeJuan Blair to Big D and now it appears official as Blair himself tweeted he’s going to Dallas:

Dallas!!!!! Now lets have some fun!!!!

SA you always in my heart!

ITS GREAT MORNING!!! ENJOY YA DAY TWITTFAM!!!!

Multiple teams have attempted to lure the Spurs into a sign-and-trade scenario but San Antonio has refused to budge on any of the offers, resulting in Blair signing with the Mavericks today.

While no contract terms have been released, it’s expected to be only a one year deal, possibly for the veteran’s minimum – a steal for Dallas if that does prove to be true.

Blair had fallen out of favor in San Antonio, especially late in the season, this after having two very productive years in the Alamo.

Missing ACL’s in each of his knees, there has always been a constant worry about the health of the former University of Pittsburgh star but on a one year deal (again, assuming that rumor holds true), there’s little risk involved for the Mavericks.
