Los Angeles Lakers to have eleven man rotation?

Los Angeles Lakers head coach Mike D’Antoni said today that he plans to employ an eleven man rotation for the upcoming season, this according to Dave McMenamin:

Remember when D’Antoni played just 7 guys on the 2nd night of a b2b in PHX? He told @ESPNLA710 that he’ll have an 11-man rotation next year

While that might be the hope, it’s an unlikely scenario.

Kobe Bryant will obviously be watched closely as he returns from his Achilles’ tear. Steve Nash will be on a relatively heavy minutes restriction according to multiple reports and newly signed center Chris Kaman has a long history of health issues, which is inevitably going to force the Lakers to get creative with their roster.

The Lakers did their best to revamp their poor bench from last season, but financial restraints all but hampered that, forcing the Lakers to sign borderline talents to fill out the pine.

While the Lakers are still talented, especially their starting five, health issues are sure to be rampant during the course of the 82 game grind.
