MLB trade rumors 2013: Arizona Diamondbacks still interested in Jake Peavy

While the Los Angeles Dodgers have been destroying anything and anybody in their path, the Arizona Diamondbacks aren’t ready to concede the National League West yet.

In what is quickly becoming a two team race, Arizona is looking to reinforce their rotation and have interest in Jake Peavy of the Chicago White Sox:

Don’t rule out #DBacks on Peavy just yet. Source in touch with them says they “may kick the tires” again.

The D’Backs have already had talks with the White Sox regarding Peavy, but the initial asking price was a bit too high. It’s unlikely Arizona would meet the requests of Chicago this go-around, though, there’s no shame in giving it another chance.

Peavy of course is no stranger to the National League West as he spent parts of eight seasons with the San Diego Padres where he experienced the best years of his career, including a Cy Young award in 2007. The Diamondbacks would be hopeful he’d return to a similar form pitching in the comfy ballparks of the National League West.
